WeeShire is a family-run homestead and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sensory-friendly animal connection. We are open by appointment to ensure every guest—local or traveler—enjoys a calm, staffed, and predictable environment. Whether you're here to meet the Mini Mainstays or listen to the Palace Flock, we invite you to experience the homestead at your own speed.
Arrival: When you arrive at your scheduled time, a team member will be there to welcome you at the gate. You’ll see other friends of the farm, but we keep our groups small so it never feels crowded.
Meeting the Animals: We use "low and slow" movements. You’ll have the chance to see Nick Nack, Purcie, and the Fainting Fellowship. A staff member will always be nearby to help you interact safely.
The Sights & Sounds: You will hear the rhythmic "honk" of the geese and the splashing of ducks. It’s a working homestead, so you might hear the wind or the sounds of nature, but we keep the environment free from loud machinery during visits.
The "Yes" Environment: We strive to make the homestead a "Yes" space where guests can explore safely under our supervision.
Footwear: Nebraska winters and springs are unpredictable! Sturdy, closed-toe boots or sneakers are required for everyone's safety.
Accessibility: Our paths are currently natural grass and gravel. If you use a mobility aid, please let us know so we can help you navigate the best routes.
Provided Treats Only: We provide all the snacks for the residents. This keeps our animals healthy and prevents "pushy" behavior!
No Outside Pets: To keep our feathered and four-legged residents feeling safe, please leave all pets at home.

Winter & Late Fall: This is "Animal Season." With the gardens tucked away, the focus is on the residents. It’s a great time for kids to run in the open pasture, burn off energy, and spend quality time brushing the Mini Mainstays or watching the Fainting Fellowship in their thick winter coats.
Spring, Summer, & Early Fall: This is "Growth Season." In addition to visiting the animals, guests can explore our developing Sensory Garden and the Blueberry Grove. It’s a tactile experience—smelling herbs, seeing what’s blooming, and eventually, picking sun-warmed berries.
