ABOUT US
WeeShire Mains was born from a family's love and a vision for a more inclusive, sensory-friendly world.
More than just a farm, this is a dream born from a parent’s love, our family’s journey, and the profound impact we’ve witnessed nature and animals have on those we cherish most. My husband, Ken, and I were inspired to create this special place by our two wonderful boys, who were both diagnosed with autism.
Like many families navigating the complexities of neurodiversity, we spent countless hours traveling to doctors' appointments, therapy sessions, and specialists. Through those long days, we saw firsthand how much our sons benefited from calm environments and gentle, engaging activities.

The Turning Point
It was during this time that a thoughtful physical therapist suggested something truly transformative. She pointed out that many of the sensory activities she was doing with our boys could actually be done right here on our own land. She even visited our property to show us how, sharing her expertise and helping us plant the seed of what WeeShire Mains could become: a nurturing, sensory-friendly sanctuary close to home.
A Path to Healing
As we began to explore this vision, we noticed another miracle happening. Ken had suffered a brain injury in 2019 and a stroke in 2024, but when he spent time outdoors with our growing menagerie of animals, the change was remarkable. The peace he found in nature and those gentle interactions solidified our mission.
We realized that WeeShire Mains wasn't just for our family—it was meant to be a place of healing and connection for everyone.

Experience the calming joy of interacting with our friendly miniature livestock, perfect for gentle petting and observation.

Explore environments designed with sensory sensitivities in mind—from the textures of plants to the soothing sounds of nature.

We provide a predictable, supportive space featuring quiet zones and visual supports to ensure every guest feels at ease.

Whether finding a moment of peace or rediscovering abilities, our farm is a place to connect with nature and a community that cares.
WeeShire Mains is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sensory farm dedicated to providing a space to breathe, grow, and connect. Located in the heart of Kimball, Nebraska, we are cultivating resilience—one seed and one snuggle at a time.
